Voices for Education: Eric Forsmann

To everything, there is a season and a time for every purpose under the sun. Now is the time for us to stand up with our community and support the MVSD 244 Levy. Some people say that we should let the state support our schools like it used to, but that isn’t an option anymore. Times have changed and we have to change with them.

We need to support our levy to help our kids now so they grow into good citizens who care about the small communities that once helped raise them and shape them. The kids in school today will someday be employees, teachers, public servants, politicians, farmers and ranchers, and mothers and fathers to the next generation. We need to show them now that we do care about them and about their education.

I was born and raised here, my wife Joyce and I have put our eight kids through both public and private school. My youngest son will graduate in May of this year and I will still be voting YES on school levies. I want my grandkids to attend the same schools in the generations to come. I will always support this area because this is my home and I want our small rural community to still be here for future generations to enjoy.

We are business owners. We are farmers. We are ranchers. There isn’t a class in school specifically for ranching or how to farm, but each class teaches something that will help kids be successful no matter their career. Most importantly, schools open doors to students to show them the opportunities available to them in our rural areas.

Supporting the levy and supporting the kids is supporting our future.

When voting YES on the levy, we support learning in the classrooms and activities that keep kids connected to and engaged in their education. Supporting the levy and supporting the kids is supporting our future. Vote YES on the levy.
